MAPLEWOOD, NJ - The Maplewood 4th of July fireworks scheduled for Monday night have been postponed due to rain until Tuesday, July 5, according to an update on the the "Maplewood 4th of July" Facebook page.
The fireworks display will begin at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, and no tickets are required, states the MaplewoodCivic.org website. The website also has an update that "from 6:00 p.m. on, our amusement vendor will be onsite as will food vendors. No new purchase of tickets required."
Garden State Fireworks is providing the Maplewood fireworks display, which takes place in Memorial Park.
There will be limited parking spaces available in the vicinity of the Maplewood train station until 5 p.m., at which time most of the streets will have no parking, according to Maplewood police. The update from police stated that "motorists are urged to please comply with the posted signage in the area."
The statement from Maplewood police also included that "residents in the immediate and expanded area should be advised that the 'No Parking' areas will be maintained and there will be various road closures in the area of this event."
Most roads surrounding Memorial Park (Valley St.) will be closed from approximately 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., and there will be no access to Oakview Ave. beginning at 6 p.m.through completion of the event, according to an alert from Maplewood police.
