Maplewood Community Music's 20-piece community big band, Swing Town, led by Ben Williams is hosting a jazz workshop for student musicians on Wednesday, June 3, at the DeHart Community Center, 120 Burnett Ave, Maplewood from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  All 8th grade, high school and college student musicians who play saxophone, trombone, trumpet, guitar or bass are invited to attend.

Learn to play a wide variety of jazz/swing and rock tunes.  It is sure to be an enjoyable experience for young musicians of all skill levels.  No jazz playing experience is required. A second workshop on July 15 will also include an improvisation workshop. Please refer to the event flyer for more details at:

The students who participate in the workshop are invited to play with Swing Town at the Hilton Neighborhood Association's 25th Anniversary Celebration on Wednesday, June 1,7 at the Springfield Ave Gazebo from 7 9 p.m. and at the Maplewood Community Pool on Wednesday, July 29 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
