MAPLEWOOD, NJ - The eighth Maplewood Green Day is this Saturday, June 18, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Maplewood's Memorial Park, with more than 5,000 attendees expected, according to the Maplewood is Green website. The event will be held rain or shine.
Maplewood Green Day is a community celebration that features live music, how-to demonstrations, kid's activities, and over 70 eco-vendors, environmental organizations, health and fitness representatives, and organic and local food from over 10 restaurants and farms.
The fair will also feature an all-electric vehicle (EV) car show with models from Tesla, Toyota, Ford and others.
Demonstrations throughout the day include how to backyard compost, how to raise chickens, and how to cold brew.
For kids, there are "Live Animals of the Rain Forest” presentations by Rizzo’s Reptiles and a local farm will provide visiting cows, pigs, chickens, and goats.
There will also be a bike repair clinic and a riding arena with free monitored bike parking.
