The proposed project will include 10 one-bedroom apartments, 9 two-bedroom apartments, and one three-bedroom apartment. The building will also include a fitness center, a lounge, a parking structure and storage lockers.

Following a brief discussion, the resolution was moved, seconded and approved on a unanimous vote.

1933 Springfield Avenue

Tim Reynolds had an application pending to convert the former Orange Mattress building at 1933 Springfield Avenue into "The Gym Maplewood." Reynolds stated that he has been operating a personal training facility on Springfield Avenue for the past 12 years and that he would create a gym in this building as an expansion of his current business.

Reynolds presented the plans to bring the building up to code and to divide the space into various workout and therapy rooms. Reynolds answered the few questions that were posed by members of the committee, following which the committee voted unanimously to approve the application.

The application to subdivide 8 Broadview Avenue was withdrawn prior to the meeting and was not heard.

The next meeting of the Maplewood Planning Board will be on Tuesday, September 12 at 8 p.m.
