March 05, 2020 Shoplifting: At approximately 10:45 p.m., Officers were alerted by a 7-11 employee on Springfield Ave. that a male just left the store with several Cup of Noodle products without paying. Officers were able to locate the suspect who was identified as Aamier Bonhomme, 19, of Maplewood. Bonhomme was placed under arrest and later released on a summons.

March 06, 2020 Shoplifting: At approximately 9:14 p.m., Walgreens reported a male subject carrying a large white canvass bag just shoplifted numerous items from the store. Officers located the male who was identified as Anthony Frazier, 50, of Newark. Frazier was placed under arrest and later transported to the Essex County Jail. All proceeds were returned to the store.

March 08, 2020 Shoplifting: At approximately 9:29 p.m., a Wawa employee reported a male shoplifted an orange soda, cupcake, and cookies. Officers were unable to locate the male.

March 10, 2020 Shoplifting: At approximately 9:14 p.m., Officers responded to the Wawa on a report of a male subject who had just shoplifted a small amount of candy. The male was unable to be located.

March 12, 2020 Theft: At approximately 2:30 p.m., a bicycle was reported stolen from Columbia High School.  The incident occurred sometime between 8:00 am and 2:30 pm. The owner did report that the bicycle was secured to the rack with a lock.


The Maplewood Police Department works hard to protect the residents and their property.  We are asking that you assist us in this effort by making sure all vehicles and homes are properly secured at all times.  All charges are merely accusations.  Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
