June 24 - Robbery; At approximately 9:45 a.m., two males approached a 71 year old female who was walking on Maplewood Ave in the Area of Beach Pl. The males approached her from behind and demanded her purse.  They then pushed her to the ground and took the purse when she refused to give it to them.  Both males fled to an awaiting white vehicle which traveled North on Maplewood Ave.  Responding officers canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the suspect vehicle. The victim had a complaint of pain, but denied medical attention.

June 19 - Theft From Auto; During the overnight hours, a vehicle parked in the driveway of an Oakland Rd residence had it’s window broken and a gym bag removed.

June 20 - Burglary; At approximately 8 p.m., officers responded to Hausmann Ct on a report that an unknown male had entered an unsecured apartment. The male was confronted by the resident and fled the scene. Officers were able to locate the male a short distance away. He was identified as 21 year old Richard Phillipe of Maplewood. He was arrested and charged with burglary before being transported to the Essex County Jail.

June 21 - Burglary; Sometime during the overnight hours, entry was gained to an unsecured home on the 400 block of Elmwood Ave. Cash and a train ticket were stolen from the first floor.

June 22 - Burglary; At approximately 4:15 a.m., entry was made to a home on Highland Ave. It is believed the individual or individuals were scared off by the alarm. Nothing was reported missing.

June 23 - Burglary; During the overnight hours, the concession stand at the Maplewood Pool was entered. Snacks and beverages were reportedly stolen.

June 23 - Garage Burglary; At approximately 10:15 a.m., a male was observed exiting a garage on Wetmore Ave with a bicycle.  When confronted he fled the scene towards Irvington Ave.  He was located in South Orange and was arrested on an outstanding warrant.  He was identified as 31 year old Zakee Martin of Irvington and following an investigation was additionally charged with burglary and theft.

June 24 - Garage Burglary; Sometime during the overnight hours, a garage on Hudson Ave was entered and a video camera was stolen from it.
