MAPLEWOOD, NJ - The Maplewood Recreation Department is hosting a free event for dogs this Saturday, September 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Maplewood Community Pool.

Residents are invited to bring their dogs (no more than two per handler) to the pool for a swim at the first-ever "Dog Days of Summer" event at the pool.

Dogs have to be on a leash form the parking lot into the pool area, and must be licensed and wearing their tag. Dogs showing signs of aggression will be asked to leave, according to an email from the recreation department.

Attendees can bring balls or Frisbees, but are asked by organizers to be sure they are toys the dog won’t mind sharing.

Also of note, the event is for dogs to swim in the pool, not for people.

Attending this event? Please send photos of your pups to Anna Sandler at asandler@tapinto.net.
