MAPLEWOOD, NJ - The following storm update was issued from the Township of Maplewood at about 4 p.m. on March 8:

Update: As of 2:30 p.m. Thursday there were about 1,000 customers (roughly 10%) without electricity. This is throughout the town. We are working with PSE&G to get roads opened, particularly on Parker near the high school.

The shelter at the Community Center in DeHart Park (120 Burnett Avenue) will be open through 8 a.m. Friday morning. If you need to charge up your phone or want some warmth and companionship, stop by.

There will be no jitney service Thursday evening.
