MAPLEWOOD, NJ - The Maplewood Spring Rake Out program is currently underway, with the last collection ranging from May 11 through May 18, depending on the location of the home.
The Spring Rake Out provides residents of Maplewood with "the opportunity to dispose of any unwanted branches, leaves, and other raked items from their lawns," according to an update to the Maplewood website.

Materials to be picked up are limited to branches, leaves, and garden rakings, which are to be packaged as follows, according to the Maplewood website:

  • Branches must not be more than four feet in length and tied in bundles that can be handled by one person.
  • Leaves and garden rakings must be placed in reusable containers (i.e., garbage pails/buckets) or paper bags that can be handled by one person.
  • Rocks and soil are not permittedContainers will be left behind if these materials are found in them, or if they cannot be lifted by one person.
