MAPLEWOOD, NJ - The Springfield Avenue Gazebo summer concert series began on Friday night, July 29, and continues for three more Fridays, with two concerts and a film viewing on the schedule.

This Friday, Aug. 12, Ricky Persaud, Jr. performs rock, reggae and R & B, beginning at 7 p.m.

Persaud, age 17, has been called a "musical phenome." His performance at Maplewoodstock received rave reviews, with organizers stating it was "one of the best performances in Maplewoodstock's history."

The Springfield Avenue Gazebo series continues next Friday, Aug. 19, when Kyle Lacy will perform blues described as having a "rockabilly swagger."

The series finishes on Friday, August 26, with an outdoor movie, the 2014 release of Annie, at 8 p.m.

The Summer Concert Series at the Springfield Avenue Gazebo is presented by the Township of Maplewood Office of Cultural Affairs in cooperation with the Springfield Avenue Partnership and the generous support of CKO Kickboxing of Maplewood and The Wine Barrel.
