Maplewood's 113th Fourth of July Celebration to Offer Family Fun for All

MAPLEWOOD, NJ -- The annual Fourth of July celebration in Maplewood will take place in Memorial Park and Maplewood Village, with a full schedule of activities all day long, including an old-fashioned circus, and culminating in a fireworks display at approximately 9 p.m.

This year's Fourth of July celebration will be the 113th, and is presented by the July 4th Committee of the Maplewood Civic Association. The Fourth of July festivities are supported by tag purchases: $15 Combo Tags provide admission to both the circus and fireworks; $10 Tags can be purchased for admission to either the circus or to the fireworks dispaly. Circus concessions are sold separately.

On July 4, tickets can be purchased in Memorial Park at the Evening Event Entrance Gates.

A full schedule of Fourth of July events can be found here. Some highlights include the annual Fourth of July 5K Run (separate registration and fee required), the annual parade, kids' dashes and races and ice cream eating and baking contests.

At 1 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. there are performances by the Zerbini Family Circus. There are no reserved seats, and seating is limited, so participants are encouraged to line up early.

At 4 p.m. live music featuring local young and adult bands begins on the lawn (athletic field south of Oakview Ave.), until the fireworks display at approximately 9 p.m.

In case of inclement weather, the rain date for the fireworks is July 5. The circus and indoor events will occur rain or shine on July 4.
