MAPLEWOOD, NJ - Local residents came out to MayFest on Sunday and enjoyed the weather, rides, snacks, and visting the booths set up by different vendors along Springfield Avenue.
About 150 vendors, including 55 from Maplewood and South Orange praticipated in the fair, according to Springfield Avenue Partnership Executive Director Julie Doran.
Nine local bands, members from two dance studios on Springfield Avenue, and the Columbia High School step team performed.
Blue Life Karate, located on Springfield Avenue, received a plaque for being in the community for 25 years.
The Maplewood Chamber of Commerce started a new campaign called "I'm In," which encourages local businesses to be involved in the chamber and in the community.
"We're hoping others will join," said Chamber President Diana Galer.
