SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — The newly formed South Orange Community Board Advisory Committee was populated by a resolution at yesterday’s Board of Trustees meeting.
The Community Board, adopted by the Board of Trustees on Dec. 14, 2020, will act as a liaison between the neighborhoods and the governing body, said Trustee Bob Zuckerman.
The members appointed by Village President Sheena for a term ending on December 31, 2022 are:
Rhea Beck, Felicity Crew, Frank DePaoli, Lorraine Graves, Brandon Harris, John Lopos, Jessica Miller, Alison Oxman, Patricia Parada, and Sam Salkin
Members appointed by the Board of Trustees for a term ending on December 31, 2021 are:
Nina Essel, Amanda Langelotti, Joe Malespina, Liz Meny, Jason Morros, Greg Spreeman, Michael Tizcianowski, Joanne Watkins, and Paul Ziobro
The members represent all 10 neighborhoods within South Orange, with two members from each neighborhood except Tuxedo Park, which currently has one representative and an open seat.
Zuckerman praised the “diverse, professional group of residents” who have volunteered their time. Many of the representatives “are new faces and new voices. That was something that we collectively thought was very important… Yes, there are some folks who have been very involved with the town, but we wanted to get a range of different voices involved,” he added.
The advisory board will meet quarterly. The first meeting will be Weds. April 14, at 7:30. The public may watch the streaming meeting by registering through Webex.
