MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Unofficial results from Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 8, show Hillary Clinton got 9,940 votes (82.8%) here to Donald Trump’s 1,161 (9.7%).
Third-party candidates Jill Stein and Gary Johnson got 1.3% (159 votes) and 1% (120 votes) of the vote respectively.
These tallies do not include mail-in ballots.
Voter turnout was high in Maplewood, with long lines reported in the morning and mid-day. By the afternoon, lines had greatly decreased, with many voters reporting short wait times.
In Essex County, presidential voting had similar results to Maplewood, with Hillary Clinton receiving 77% of the vote, Donald Trump receiving 21% of the vote, and Jill Stein and Gary Johnson each getting about 1% of votes.
