Demonstrations on June 3rd demand impartial investigations into Russian Interference in the US election and the Trump administration’s improper relationships with Russian oligarchs.

As questions mount as to whether the White House has engaged in a cover-up and obstruction of justice in the Russia investigation, SOMA Action (a local Indivisible group), NJ Working Families, Action Together, NJ, and, We the People NJ7, along with a dozen activist groups around the state, have joined the national March For Truth to demand answers.

Activists will initiate a variety of protest activities in and around Bedminster, down the road from Donald Trump’s private golf course.  The schedule of events for Saturday, June 3 includes:

Featured Speaker: Congressman Bill Pascrell, (D, NJ-9th Dist.), leader of the effort in the House of Representatives to force Trump to release his tax returns. Other speakers include Saily Avelenda, NJ-11th activist targeted by Rep. Frelinghuysen.

“Our representatives in Washington are not doing their job in checking the power of the Executive Branch. It is up to the citizens of this country to hold the Trump Administration accountable to the truth about his web of private investments and financial conflicts of interest and his connections to Russian oligarchs,” said Amy Higer of SOMA Action.  “We are marching for truth and transparency because our democracy will disappear if we don’t act now.”

A complete list of all organizational partners as well as a confirmed list of speakers will be posted on www.somaaction.org on June 2.

The demands of the Bedminster Protest are simple:

  • An independent commission as well as open, well-resourced Congressional investigations into Trump’s ties to Russia and his financial conflicts of interest around the world;

  • The immediate release of Trump’s tax returns, and all relevant financial information; and

  • Support for challengers to the five GOP members of the U.S. House of Representatives from NJ.

About the March for Truth

The March For Truth is a national coalition of activist groups and grassroots, local organizers demanding that leaders in government defend the rule of law, fully investigate Russian interference in the 2016 election and the role of Donald Trump and his associates, and investigate Donald Trump’s motives for possibly interfering in the investigation.
