SOUTH ORANGE AND MAPLEWOOD, NJ - After multiple days of NJ Transit delays and cancellations in July, the South Orange Board of Trustees and the Maplewood Township Committee are asking SOMA residents who use the train to take a NJ Transit survey to enable town leaders to better communicate issues to NJ transit and state officials, stated an update on the South Orange website.
The survey is about train service during month of July, and takes about five minutes to complete. The survey can be found here.
Personal information will not be shared and the survey states that "name and email will be used for communication purposes and will not be published."
Survey questions include "Did you experience loss of wages due to cancellations and delays?" and an opportunity to comment with ideas about how local government can better assist commuters.
South Orange Village President Sheena Collum posted on Facebook urging commuters to take the survey, adding, "Don't just vent online, help us help you. Oh, and please don't exaggerate - we need good data. Complete and share this survey with every SOMA commuter you know."
Collum also posted that over 350 surveys have already been collected as of Monday morning.
"The South Orange Board of Trustees and Maplewood Township Committee are committed to advocating reliable train service to our resident commuters," stated the South Orange website update.
