SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – Allowing permit parking on Ward Place between Wilden Place and South Orange Avenue is on the agenda for tonight’s Board of Trustees meeting.
The trustees will vote on whether to introduce that change to the parking ordinance. A second reading and public hearing will be scheduled if the ordinance is introduced. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at the South Orange Performing Arts Center main stage with an executive session. The public portion of the meeting begins at 8 p.m.
The board also will vote on contracts for playground equipment for $55,000 and safe ground cover for $6,400 for Farrell Field.
In addition, the board will provide additional information about several special meetings scheduled in September and October.
The Irvington Avenue Corridor Advisory Committee has scheduled community forums on Wednesday and Thursday. Both meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. at Congregation Beth El, 222 Irvington Ave.
South Orange is conducting a special meeting about its water supply on Monday, Sept. 15. That meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. from the SOPAC main stage. A public presentation of options for an alternate water supplier is planned. South Orange’s water supplier is East Orange Water Commission.
The Senior Citizens Advisory Committee has a town hall meeting planned for Oct. 26.
