MAPLEWOOD, NJ - The Parenting Center and Elementary School PTAs will present a PARCC Testing Overview on Thursday, Feb. 5 at the Seth Boyden Elementary School in Maplewood.
Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction Susan Grierson will give the PARCC presentation followed by a question and answer session with parents.
The program, which starts at 7:30 p.m., will address the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers, a computer-based evaluation of math and English/language arts/literacy skills that measure whether a student is on a proper track for college readiness and career success, and whether students are meeting the new Common Core standards.
PARCC assessments are designed to replace the NJASK in grades 3-8 in language arts and math, and the HSPA in Grade 11. PARCC assessments will commence this spring.
