WESTFIELD, NJ — Linda Fazio, the 6-year-old girl who was found unresponsive and revived at Westfield Memorial Pool June 25, is smiling, speaking and giggling once again, according to an update posted on the “Support Linda Fazio’s Recovery” GoFundMe site.
“Linda's miraculous recovery continues as she does not cease to amaze us with her incredible strength and courage! We now truly feel like we have our wonderful little girl back,” the update attributed to her parents, Claudio and Yanella Fazio, reads.
“Tonight will be her last night in the pediatric ICU here at CHOP as tomorrow she will be transferred to the Seashore rehabilitation facility also at CHOP. She will be working with the team there to prepare her for a smooth transition for her return home, an enjoyable rest of summer and a successful year in second grade.
“Thanks to all that sent cards, gifts and well wishes as they have been extremely helpful in lifting her spirits during some difficult moments.
“Also many thanks to all that have donated as this will greatly reduce any financial strain we may experience in ensuring that Linda continues to reach her fullest potential in life. To see her smile, speak, giggle and have fun once again as she used to brings us to tears, the most wonderful joyous tears you could ever imagine.
“Thank you again to everyone who continues to support, love and pray for Linda and our family along this tremendous journey. She can't wait to get home to family and friends!”
The GoFundMe site created by Jen Goldstein has raised almost $42,000 from nearly more than 830 donors since June 27. To contribute, click here.
