SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - Two boys were arrested for robbery on Monday, October 23, according to the South Orange Police Blotter.
According to police, a South Orange resident reported that while he was walking on Tichenor Ave. on October 23, "two juvenile males approached him from behind, demanded his cell phone, and struck him multiple times on the back of his head."
Unable to get the phone, police stated that the boys then fled north on Tichenor Ave., towards Irvington Ave.
Officers searched the area based on the victim's description, and stopped two boys near Ward Place and South Orange Ave. After further investigation at the scene, officers determined that the two boys were the ones involved in the robbery, stated the police blotter.
Both boys were taken into custody at about 8:10 p.m., and transported to headquarters to be processed accordingly, said police.
