SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - The ever-popular South Orange Pop 'N Shop has popped up this spring at 65 South Orange Ave., the temporary store's first time opening outside of the holiday season, when it has run the last two years. Pop 'N Shop is sponsored by the South Orange Village Center Alliance (SOVCA).

Matt Glass, Chair, SOVCA Board of Directors, welcomed everyone to the "first ever spring pop up" and thanked everyone for making the store possible, including his wife Jen Glass, who was unable to attend the opening.

Bob Zuckerman, Executive Director of SOVCA, thanked the "whole Pop 'N Shop team" for their efforts, and pointed out that the Pop 'N Shop taking place in the spring provided a chance to work with a "Dads and Grads" theme and provide unique graduation and Father's Day gift options.

Zuckerman also shared that all of the craftspeople and artisans who create the items for sale at the Pop 'N Shop also volunteer at the store, and that many have told him that meeting other artists in the community has been one of the highlights of being part of the Pop 'N Shop experience.

South Orange Village President Sheena Collum also expressed her thanks to all involved, and said that the Pop 'N Shop is a great example of "how far the South Orange Village Center Alliance has come, and that she hopes what is now a pop up shop could "become a permanent fixture, and a place for community to come together," while promoting items made by local artisans and craftspeople.

In addition to hand-crafted jewelry, apparel, accessories, art and gift items, the Pop 'N Shop also has apparel from the local schools, including South Orange Middle School and South Mountain Elementary. "This Spring Pop 'n Shop features mostly new merchants that you've never seen before in the store, with a few returning vendors from last year," according to an email from the SOVCA.

The Pop 'N Shop is open from noon to 8 p.m. for eight days only --  from June 2 to June 5, and then again from June 9 to June 12.

For more information, and a full list of vendors, visit the SOVCA website here.
