MAPLEWOOD AND SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - The Primary Election is Tuesday, June 5. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Sample ballots were mailed last month by the Board of Election, and polling locations are listed on the ballot. Polling locations can also be found here.

UNITED STATES SENATOR

Incumbent Robert Menendez and Lisa McCormick are vying for the Democratic nomination, and Bob Hugin and Brian Goldberg for the Republican nomination.

MEMBER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Incumbent Donald Payne and Aaron Fraser are running for the Democratic nomination, and Agha Khan is running unopposed for the Republican nomination.

ESSEX COUNTY EXECUTIVE

Current Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo, Jr. is running unopposed for the Democratic nomination, and John Chiaia and Roland Straten are running for the Republican nomination.

ESSEX COUNTY SHERIFF

The current Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura is running unopposed for the Democratic nomination, and Pasquale Capozzoli and John Van Wagner are the candidates for the Republican nomination.

MEMBERS OF THE MAPLEWOOD TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE

In Maplewood, current Township Committee members Greg Lembrich and Nancy Adams are running unopposed for the Democratic nomination. No petitions were filed for Republican candidates.

MEMBER OF THE ESSEX COUNTY BOARD OF CHOSEN FREEHOLDERS, DISTRICT 3

In South Orange, Tyshammie Cooper is running unopposed for the Democratic nomination, and no petitions were filed for a Republican candidate. This is to fill the unexpired term of Britnee Timberlake, who gave up her seat in February when she was elected to replace Sheila Oliver in the New Jersey State Assembly. The seat has been held temporarily by Janine Bauer of South Orange since March.
