MAPLEWOOD, NJ - Pub Nite is an annual event at St. James's Gate that takes place in June and kicks-off the fundraising effort for the Bob Miller Oyster Fest, which happens in September. The Oyster Fest is in its 4th year and raises funds to promote awareness and research for a cure for Melanoma.
Pub Nite featured Oyster Fest swag available for purchase, and two raffles. One raffle was for chances to win a variety of items ranging from Yankees and Giants tickets to gift certificates and other items. The main raffle, which is limited to the sale of 100 tickets, has a single prize – an all-expenses trip to the Galway Oyster Fest in Ireland. The Grand Prize ticket was drawn by Ellen Davenport, former Mayor of Maplewood, and the winner was local resident Mary Vayas.
