MAPLEWOOD, NJ - On Saturday night, April 29, the Seth Boyden School P.T.A. hosted a "It Takes Two" Towns Old School Hip Hop Party at The Woodland Parlor in Maplewood. Open to the entire SOMA community, the event featured '80s and '90s rap, freestyle and dance hall music.

The party DJs were a father-and-son duo, Jose and Javid from Allentown, PA. They spun Eric B. & Rakim, De La Soul, the Beastie Boys, LL Cool J, and much more. 

There were over 100 attendees at the event, including Seth Boyden School Principal Damion Frye.

"By the end, the whole Parlor was up and dancing!" shared Seth Boyden parent Alison Poe. 

The event organizer, Sandra Sampayo, suggested that the event may happen again in the future.
