MAPLEWOOD, NJ - Shenanigans Toys on Maplewood Avenue is closing, according to an update on their Facebook page on Thursday, Oct. 5.

The post to Facebook is as follows:

Dearest Maplewood,
It is with great sadness that I have played with my last toy, wrapped my last gift, told my last joke and said my final thank you.
Being a small business is hard work, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week of worry, concern, juggling and work work work to make a business thrive.
And in the age where product you can think of is available with a touch of your phone, small businesses need all of the support you can give to them. Please shop locally. The extra trip it takes you around the parking lot means a store can last for another day and it's employee's will continue to have work.
I NEED to say thank you!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with me. Their smiles, laughter, tenacity, creativity, and everything that makes them lovable has made my dream come true even better than I could have imagined.
It has been the honor of my life that you have entrusted me with your children and shared so many wonderful moments with me.
This moment of Shenanigans has ended, but I will return in the future. All for the love of fun!!!
....see you around town
