SHORT HILLS, NJ - Waiting in line to see Santa has never been more fun as children and adults alike can immerse themselves in the interactive Flight Academy experience at The Mall at Short Hills. After creating personalized crew badges, children are greeted by name throughout their journey to become a member of Santa's flight crew.
Partnering with one of three of Santa's elves, Sleigh Mechanic George, Flight Director Sparkle or Reindeer Caretaker Flash each child will help ready Santa’s sleigh so he can deliver presents to children around the world. After getting fitted with their virtual flight suit, children pass through a sled staging area where they oversee the loading of the presents, check different route options for the big flight and even monitor the radar for any problematic weather patterns.
At the end of the adventure, each child will step inside of a 22-foot-tall sleigh for an enchanted snowfall dance party with the elves before meeting Santa. Children will also receive a special gift from Santa to personally thank them for heroically saving the day.
“We are thrilled to offer Santa’s Flight Academy to give our guests an immersive holiday experience,” said Michael McAvinue, general manager, the Mall at Short Hills. “The holidays are a time for creating special memories and we’re confident children will be delighted with this new adventure that will surely become a tradition for years to come.”
Santa’s Flight Academy will be available exclusively at The Mall at Short Hills through Saturday, December 24. Due to the unprecedented nature of the experience and anticipated high demand, visitors are encouraged to pre-register children for a Santa’s Flight Academy entrance badge online. Access to Santa's Express Lane during a designated time slot is available by pre-purchasing your photo package which cutting down on waiting to enter the Flight Academy.
