SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - Hundreds came out on Tuesday afternoon to celebrate Halloween in "Spooky" Spiotta Park in the heart of South Orange Village. 

Sponsored by the South Orange Village Center Alliance (SOVCA), there was a Costume Contest, a visit from Wanda the Giant Witch, not to mention plenty of jokes, dancing and games, as well as a the main event: the parade of costumed contestants competing in seven different categories. 

The judges had a difficult job selecting from the many interesting and creative costumes. Here are the seven winners:

Funniest: Haz Math Family

Best Adult Costume: Poison Ivy

Best Kids Costume: Wright Brothers

Best Overall Family #1: Despicable Us

Best Overall Family #2: Tornado Hunting Family

Wild Card Award: Partial Solar Eclipse

Matt Glass, President of the SOVCA, said that he was amazed with the creativity of the costumes, and grateful to all the South Orange merchants who got involved as event sponsors, donated prizes to the costume contest, and participated by opening their businesses to the many trick or treaters.
