Both South Orange and Maplewood have been busy with rowadwork projects. Here's a look at what is scheduled for later this month.
Improvement work is expected to begin on Monday, Aug. 19 on Woodland Crescent, Kilburn Place, Lindsey Avenue and in the South Orange Parking Lot.
Work is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is expected to take two to three days, weather permitting, South Orange Village officials announced on the South Orange Village website, southorange.org. Residents who need to use their cars must move them prior to 8 a.m.
Roadwork was also being done on Whiteoak Drive, Redmond Road, Harding Drive and Glenview Road.
In Maplewood, roadwork in Maplewood Village continues.
Paving will continue on Maplewood Avenue. Starting on Monday, Aug. 19, work will continue on Maplewood Avenue in front of Able Baker, continuing north across Baker Street to Words Bookstore, Maplewood Township announced on its website, twp.maplewood.nj.us.
Paver installation is expected to begin the week of Aug. 26 on Baker Street on the south side of Arturo's. The paver work will then continue around that block to Maplewood Avenue and up to Shenanigan's toy store, Maplewood Township officials said on the township website. During that phase of the project, the median on Baker Street will also be completed.
Roadwork in Maplewood is expected to begin at 7:30 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. Parking will be limited in the area near the construction site.
Maplewood Township officials plan to put out weekly schedules on the township website, updating residents about road closures and detours.
