SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - The South Orange Master Plan Management Committee and Topology hosted an information session on Wednesday night about the village's master plan, affordable housing rules and regulations, and types of housing complexes.
Philip Abramson from Topology was the lead speaker for the information session, which was the 42nd event the master plan committee and Topology has hosted to educate residents about the master plan process and rewrite.
Abramson said there will be more discussions in the fall about the master plan.
The event started with a presentation and then broke into smaller groups so residents could speak with Topology professionals.
During the individual group sessions, residents asked questions and spoke about the types of housing they want to see in town which included backyard and carriage apartments, triplexes with individual driveways, two-bedroom apartments, and turning single-family homes into multi-family homes, among others.
"I want to see more two bedroom apartments where families who don't have a big pile of money can move to our town," said resident Tonia Moore.
