South Orange Police Arrest Man Who Confessed to Six Separate Burglaries

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - South Orange police have arrested "the man responsible for multiple car break-ins," according to an update to the South Orange Police Department Facebook page on Thursday, Jan. 26.

The burglaries occurred during the evening of Jan. 15, according to the update from South Orange police. The police blotter stated that during the overnight hours of Wednesday, Jan. 25, about ten vehicles were burglarized on the west side of South Orange, including two vehicles on Conway Court, two vehicles on Lenox Ave. two vehicles on So. Ridgewood Rd., three vehicles on Western Dr. and one on West End Dr.  

The man who was arrested, George Brown, age 37 of Orange, was captured on a security camera, according to the update. "South Orange detectives recognized him and found him at his place or residence. At this time he has confessed to six separate burglaries and more charges are pending," stated the police update.

South Orange police added that they "cannot stress enough the importance of locking your doors. 90% of burglaries occur to unlocked car and residential doors/windows."
