Burglary - A Montrose Ave. resident reported that sometime between 11 p.m. on Monday, May 22, and 6 a.m., Tuesday, May 23, actor(s) unknown entered his garage and removed his Stihl landscaping tool (weed-wacker). It appears the garage was unlocked at the time.
Burglary - A So. Stanley resident reported that sometime between 2 p.m. Saturday, May 13 and 4 p.m., Friday May 19, actor(s) unknown smashed in the rear door of the residence to gain entry and removed several feet of copper pipe from the basement. Detectives responded to process the scene.
Burglary to Auto - A Newark resident reported that sometime between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, actor(s) unknown entered his unlocked vehicle, which was parked in front of a business on Valley Street and removed his Samsung S6 cell phone that was inside the vehicle.
Warrant arrest - Michael Washington, a 65 year old Wharton resident was arrested on Tuesday, May 23, at approximately 2:03 a.m. for active arrest warrants out of Morristown. Officers observed Washington acting suspiciously and stopped him near the intersection of Vose Ave. and Taylor Place to inquire about his activity. After further investigation, a record check revealed the outstanding warrants and officers arrested Washington without further incident. Officers transported Washington to headquarters where he was processed accordingly.
Adult Arrest - CDS - Zaccai Moreau, a 19 year old Montclair resident was arrested on Monday, 5-22-17 at approximately 9:57 pm for possession of CDS (Marijuana). While on Sloan Street, Officers observed Moreau smoking a dark colored cigarette that distinctly smelled like marijuana. Officer stopped Moreau to investigate further & quickly determined the cigarette to be CDS. Officers arrested Moreau, who was also in possession of CDS paraphernalia, as well as alcohol (100 ml bottle of E&J Brandy) and transported him to headquarters where he was charged and processed accordingly.
Warrant Arrest - Darren Allen, a 36 year old Newark resident was arrested on Friday, May 19, at approximately 8:50 p.m. for an active arrest warrant out of Elizabeth. Officers observed Allen drinking an alcoholic beverage and littering while in Spiotta Park and stopped him to investigate further. During the stop, a record check revealed the outstanding warrant. Officers arrested Allen without further incident and transported him to headquarters where he was processed accordingly.
