South Orange Police Blotter as of January 14
Burglary - A Duffield Dr. resident reported that sometime between 8:45 a.m. and 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 11, actor(s) unknown entered her residence and removed several items, including silver candle stick holders. The Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.
Attempted Burglary - A Harding Dr. resident reported that sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 11, actor(s) unknown attempted to gain entry into his residence through a window at the rear of the house. The Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.
P.U.L.A. - On Thursday, Jan. 12, at approximately 7:40 p.m., officers issued Sydra Bera, a 19 year old California resident a special complaint for possession of alcohol under the legal age. Officers observed Bera exit the Wine Emporium on Valley St. carrying a bottle of tequila. Appearing to be under the legal age to possess or purchase alcohol, officers stopped Bera to investigate further and subsequently issued her the special complaint.
Adult Arrest - DWI - Dragos Ries, a 24 year old South Orange resident, was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at approximately 3:20 a.m. for DWI. Officers stopped Ries, who was driving a 2010 Nissan for motor vehicle violations on Irvington Ave. near Riggs Pl. After further investigation at the scene, officers suspected Ries of DWI. Officers arrested Ries without incident and transported him to headquarters for processing.
Adult Arrest - Hakeem Love, a 37 year old South Orange resident, was arrested on Monday, Jan. 9. at approximately 5:40 a.m. for outstanding arrest warrants out of South Orange and Maplewood. Officers responded to the area of Sloan Street and South Orange Ave. on a report of an aggressive pan-handler. Officers observed an individual inside the Dunkin Donuts who matched the description provided by witnesses. Officers stopped the subject and further investigation revealed that there were multiple, active arrest warrants for him out of South Orange and Maplewood. Officers arrested Love and transported him to headquarters where he was processed accordingly.
Theft - A Charlton Ave. resident reported that sometime between 3 p.m. and 4:42 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, actor(s) unknown stole a red, Toro brand snow blower from his residence. The incident is currently being investigated.
