South Orange Police Blotter as of July 5

Strong-arm robbery of bicycle/arrest; David Boone, a 19 year old South Orange resident was arrested on July 1, at approximately 6:15 p.m., after the subject physically knocked a victim from his bicycle on Irvington Ave while attempting to steal same. Officers on routine patrol observed the incident occur and were able to make an immediate apprehension of the subject. The subject was transported to police headquarters and processed accordingly.

Theft of vehicle/arrest; David Boone, a 19 year old South Orange resident was arrested on July 3 at approximately 12:35 a.m. after an officer on routine patrol observed the subject operating a vehicle on Irvington Ave. in an erratic manner. The subject was stopped on Irvington Ave. after the officer observed the subject travel the wrong way down the one way section of the street. During the subsequent field investigation it was discovered by the officer that the subject had stolen the vehicle with the keys left inside of same from Jersey City. The subject was arrested at the scene without incident, transported to police headquarters and processed accordingly.

CDS/arrest; Terrell Smith, an 18 year old Newark resident, was arrested on July 2 at approximately 9 p.m., after an officer responded to the main train station platform on a report of an individual smoking CDS (marijuana). Upon arrival the subject was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and as a result of same was taken into custody and processed accordingly.

Bicycle theft/arrest; A 15 year old juvenile and resident of Newark was arrested on July 3, at approximately 5:45 p.m., after officers responded to a report of a bike theft that had just occurred at a residence on Ralston Ave. A responding officer observed a subject matching the description and in possession of the stolen bicycle on Irving Ave. After a brief foot pursuit the juvenile was apprehended. Three other juveniles that had accompanied the subject fled the scene on bicycles and where apprehended several blocks away after they refused to comply with officers demands to stop and cease fleeing. All of the juveniles were transported to police headquarters and processed accordingly.

Theft from vehicle; A Seton Pl. resident stated that sometime during the evening or overnight hours of June 26 an unknown actor(s) had entered his vehicle (2005 Toyota) and ransacked the interior removing lacrosse equipment, coins, and an ATM card.
