South Orange Police Blotter - Multiple Vehicles Burglarized

Burglary to Auto - A Fairview Ave. resident reported on Saturday, April 22, that between 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 19 and 10 a.m., Thursday, April 20,  unknown actor(s) entered her vehicle and removed a carry-on bag that contained two laptop computers and several business papers.
 
Burglary to Autos - Several residents of Highland Rd., Melrose Pl., and Mayhew Dr. reported that approximately seven vehicles were broken into during the overnight hours on Sunday night, April 23, into Monday morning, April 24. The unknown actors rummaged through each vehicle and proceeds included some cash, loose change, and various identification papers  None of the residents reported any damage to their vehicles as all appeared to have been unlocked at the time. At approximately 4:06 a.m., one resident stated he was alerted by a motion sensor light and observed two unknown actors in his driveway and inside his vehicle. The resident described the first actor (in driveway) as a tall, thin male, wearing a ski mask, dark clothing and carrying a backpack and the second (in vehicle) as a black male wearing all dark clothing. The actors fled the scene once they were alerted to the resident's presence and a search for the actors proved negative. The Detective Bureau is investigating the incidents.
 

Burglary to Auto - A Wyoming Ave. resident reported that between 7 p.m., Sunday, April 23, and 8 a.m., April 24, unknown actor(s) entered his unlocked vehicle, which was parked in his driveway and rummaged through the interior. Nothing appears to be missing at the time of report.

Burglary to Auto - A Walnut Court resident reported that between midnight and 7 a.m. on Monday, April 24, unknown actor(s) entered his unlocked vehicle and rummaged through the interior and removed a first aid kit that was later found on a neighbors' lawn.

Adult Arrest - Tahir Knox, a 18 year old Newark resident, was arrested on Monday, April 24, at approximately 4:16 p.m. for trespassing and other charges. Officers responded to the area of Irving Ave. for a report of two suspicious subjects who were trespassing in a yard and looking into vehicles, which were parked in the rear of the driveway. Officers spotted both subjects on an adjacent street and they fled west.  After a foot pursuit, officers were able to apprehended one of the subjects (Knox) and he was transported to headquarters where he was charged accordingly. Further investigation at headquarters also revealed an active arrest warrant for Knox.

Adult Arrest DWI - Vikenslan Telemaque, a 39 year old East Orange resident, was arrested on Wednesday, April 26, at approximately 2:47 a.m. for DWI. Officers stopped the subject for a motor vehicle violation on Fairview Avenue and South Orange Ave. During the stop, officers determined that the driver (Telemaque) was operating the vehicle while under the influence. Officers subsequently arrested Telemaque and transported him to headquarters where he was processed accordingly.
