Burglary to Auto - A Ridgewood Rd resident reported that sometime between 5:00 and 5:30 am, Monday July 30, actor(s) unknown entered unlocked vehicle, which was parked inside her garage and stole her son's wallet, which contained identification, credit cards and cash.

Burglary - A Turrell Ave resident reported that sometime between 11:00 am, Friday, July 27, and 5:00 pm, Saturday, July 28, actor(s) unknown entered his unlocked backyard storage shed and rummaged through the interior. Nothing appears stolen/missing at this time.

Burglary to Auto - A Kingman Rd resident reported that sometime between 5:00 and 11:00 pm, Sunday, July 29, actor(s) unknown entered her unlocked vehicle and rummaged through the interior. Nothing appears to have been stolen/missing at this time.

Burglary to Auto - A Varsity Rd resident reported that sometime between 10:00 and 10:30 pm, Sunday, July 29, actor(s) unknown entered his unlocked vehicle, rummaged through the interior and stole his wife's Louis Vuitton purse, which contained personal items and identification.

Theft = A Turrell Ave resident reported that sometime between Wednesday, July 18, 11:20 am, Sunday July 29, actor(s) unknown stole her lawn mower from the backyard of her residence. The lawn mower is a red and black Poulan brand mower.

Theft - An Edgewood Terrace resident reported that sometime between 8:30 am, Monday, July 23, and 1:00 pm, Wednesday, July 25, actor(s) unknown stole two packages that had been confirmed delivered and were left at the front of the residence.

Theft of Bicycle - An Orange resident reported that sometime between 6:00 and 6:30 pm, Thursday, July 26, actor(s) unknown stole his bicycle while he was purchasing a drink inside the Seven-11 store on Valley St. The bike is described as a black and green "Huffy."

Adult Arrest - Shoplifting - Aliyah Knight, a 27 year old Newark resident was arrested on Thursday, July 26, at approximately 5:30 pm for shoplifting. A Rite Aid employee notified headquarters of a shoplifter who had just fled the store and was heading east on South Orange Ave. Officers stopped a subject (Knight) who matched the description given behind the church at 160 South Orange Ave.  After a brief investigation, officers determined that Knight was the actor involved in the shoplifting and officers arrested her without further incident.  During the search incident to arrest, officers located the stolen merchandise and a pipe used to smoke CDS. Officers transported Knight to headquarters where she was processed and charged accordingly.  A records check at headquarters also revealed multiple outstanding arrest warrants out of neighboring jurisdictions.

Theft of Bicycle - A Radel Terr resident reported that sometime between 5:00 pm Tuesday, July 24, and 8:30 pm, Wednesday, July 25, actor(s) unknown stole his son's bicycle (Fuji brand road bike) from the backyard of the residence. The bike has a distinctively yellow rear tire.

Burglary to Auto - A Second St resident reported that sometime between 11:00 pm, Tuesday, July 24, and 8:00 am, Wednesday actor(s) unknown entered his unlocked vehicle, rummaged through the interior and stole a set of jumper cables, a tool kit and a blanket from the car's trunk.

Burglary to Auto - A Second St resident reported that sometime between 8:00 pm, Tuesday, July 24, and 2:50 pm, Wednesday actor(s) unknown entered his unlocked vehicle and rummaged through the interior. Nothing appears to have been taken at this time.

Adult Arrest - DWI - Jose Rogoberto Maurizaca, a 56 year old West Orange resident was arrested on Tuesday, July 24, at approximately 11:45 pm for DWI. Officers stopped a blue, Toyota SUV for driving erratically on Raymond Ave near Vose Ave. During the motor vehicle stop, officers determined that the driver of the vehicle (Maurizaca) was DWI.  Officers impounded the vehicle as per John's Law, arrested Maurizaca & transported him to headquarters for processing. Once at headquarters, Maurizaca refused to cooperate and became physically combative towards officers.  No one was injured during the incident and officers charged Maurizaca accordingly.  

Burglary to Auto - A Mayhew Dr resident reported that sometime between 9:00 pm, Monday, July 23, and 8:00 am, Tuesday, July 24, actor(s) unknown entered his unlocked vehicle and rummaged through the interior. Nothing appears to have been taken at this time.

Adult Arrest - CDS - Hassan Foster, a 47 year old Newark resident was arrested on Tuesday, July 24, at approximately 7:07 pm for possession of CDS. Officers stopped a suspicious person on Cameron Rd and during the on scene inquiry, officers determined that the individual (Foster) was in possession of CDS (heroin) and he was subsequently arrested without further incident. Officers transported Foster to headquarters where he was processed and charged accordingly.  

Warrant Arrest - Dale Jackson, a 49 year old Newark resident was arrested on Tuesday, July 24, at approximately 12:15 pm for an outstanding arrest warrant out of Union. Detectives stopped a vehicle (Blue Dodge Ram) for a motor vehicle violation near the intersection of South Orange Ave and Prospect St.  During the stop, a record's check revealed an active arrest warrant for one of the vehicle's passengers (Jackson). Detectives arrested Jackson without further incident and officers transported him to headquarters where he was processed accordingly.

Burglary to Auto - A Wyoming Avenue resident reported that sometime between 6:30 pm, Monday, July 23, and 8:00 am, Tuesday, July 24, actor(s) unknown entered her unlocked vehicle, rummaged through the interior & stole a small leather change purse with a few dollars of change inside.
