South Orange Police Blotter as of November 2

Criminal Mischief - A Forest Rd. resident stated that sometime during the evening or overnight hours of Halloween (October 31) an unknown actor(s) had throw two eggs at her residence leaving stains upon same.

Theft/arrest -  Zaakir Powell, a 19 year old Vauxhall resident was arrested at approximately 8:20 p.m. on November 1, after officers responded to a call of a subject fleeing the Carvel after attempting to steal the tip jar from same. Responding officers located the subject attempting to flee the scene on Valley St. where he was apprehended, transported to police headquarters and processed accordingly.

Obstruction/arrest - Jefferson Louis, a 20 year old South Orange resident was arrested on November 2, at approximately midnight after officers responded to a disturbance in the street on Waverly Pl. and upon arrival the subject fled on foot after being ordered to stop fleeing. The subject was apprehended a block away after a brief foot pursuit, transported to police headquarters and processed accordingly.

Burglary to vehicle/suspicious vehicle - A Longview Rd. resident stated that on October 27, he looked out his window and saw a male approximately 5'11" in height standing by the driver's side door of his vehicle (2015 Audi) which was parked in his driveway. Upon officers arrival they discovered a small white vehicle traveling away from the scene but were unable to obtain the license plate identifiers. Further inspection of the scene determined that the actor had entered the vehicle and ransacked the glove box. It was also discovered that two other unlocked vehicles had been entered in the area. The Detective Bureau is investigating the incident.
