South Orange Police Blotter - Two Arrests for Burglary

Burglary to Auto - A Clark St resident reported that between 7 p.m., Monday, August 14, and 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 15, actor(s) unknown entered her unlocked vehicle, which was parked in her driveway and rummaged through the interior. Nothing appears to be missing at this time.

Burglary to Auto - A Milligan Pl resident reported that between 10 p.m., Thursday, August 10, and 10 a.m., Friday, August 11, actor(s) unknown entered her unlocked vehicle, which was parked on the street at the time and removed miscellaneous papers along with some personal items.

Burglary to Auto - An employee of Seton Hall University reported on Wednesday, August 9. between the hours of 8:15 a.m. and 6 p.m., actor(s) unknown entered his vehicle, which was parked on the second level of the parking deck and removed his wallet. The wallet contained several credit cards, identification cards, cash and other items.  No damage was observed to the vehicle' exterior or ignition. The detective bureau responded to investigate the incident.

Adult Arrest - Burglary -  Ricardo Pavilus, a 36 year old West Orange resident was arrested on Saturday, August 12, at approximately 11:21 p.m. for burglary. Officers responded to a burglary in progress call on Cameron Rd and upon arrival located the actor (Pavilus) hiding inside the residence. Officers arrested Pavilus without further incident and transported him to headquarters for processing.

Adult Arrest - Burglary - Marvin Mixson, a 34 year old Newark resident was arrested on Friday, August 11, at approximately 5:22 p.m. for burglary. Officers responded to call on Varsity Rd for a burglary to auto in progress & based on the description given by the witness, stopped a suspect (Mixson) on a nearby Newark street.  Upon further investigation at the scene, officers determined that Mixson was the actor involved and he was placed under arrest.  Officers transported Mixson to headquarters where he was processed accordingly.

Adult Arrest - Shoplifting - Frank Perez, a 26 year old Newark resident was arrested on Thursday, August 10, at approximately 2 p.m. for shoplifting. Seton Hall security notified police headquarters about a shoplifting that had just occurred at the campus bookstore and that the actor involved was at the Dover Street bus station. Officers were able to intercept the bus before it could pull out of the station and the subject (Perez) was detained. SHU security personnel positively identified Perez as the actor involved and officers arrested Perez without incident. Officers transported Perez to headquarters where he was processed accordingly.  

Auto Theft - An Academy Street resident reported that sometime between 10:00 am, Monday, June 26, and 5:00 am, Monday, August 14, actor(s) unknown stole his vehicle (2017 Yamaha motorcycle), which was locked up with a large chain behind his garage during the time.

Warrant Arrest - Jerome Miller, a 65 year old East Orange resident was arrested on Monday, August 14, at approximately 2:19 p.m. for an outstanding arrest warrant out of South Orange. Officers stopped Miller for a motor vehicle violation on Turrell Ave and further investigation during the stop revealed the active arrest warrant.  Officers arrested Miller without further incident and transported him to headquarters for processing.
