South Orange Police Blotter - Two Auto Thefts Reported

Adult Arrest - Shoplifting - Kaseem Williams, a 43 year old East Orange resident was arrested on Tuesday, June 27, at approximately 2:52 p.m. for shoplifting a bottle of liquor from Morgan Liquors on Irvington Ave. A store employee witnessed Williams conceal the bottle and then leave the store without paying. Based on the employee’s description of the shoplifter, officers were able to quickly locate Williams on Irvington Ave and arrested him without further incident. A record check also revealed numerous warrants out of several jurisdictions. Officers transported Williams to headquarters where he was processed accordingly.

Adult Arrest - Shoplifting - Pierre Cadet, a 23 year old Irvington resident was arrested by detectives on Wednesday, June 28, at approximately 12:00 p.m. for shoplifting. Cadet gave detectives a statement at headquarters in regards to his involvement in a shoplifting that occurred at Morgan Liquors (reported on Saturday, June 24)  Detectives arrested Cadet and processed him accordingly.

Theft - Shoplifting - The owner of the 7-11 reported that on Tuesday, Jund 27, at approximately 4:51 p..m. an unknown actor (described as a black male, wearing a blue and red baseball cap, yellow shirt, gray jeans, white sneakers and carrying a green shoulder bag) walked into the store and stole four cases of Red Bull energy drink and exited the store without paying for them.  The detective bureau is investigating the incident. 

Warrant Arrest - Shaquan Williams, a 32 year old Irvington resident was arrested on Thursday, June 29, at approximately 12:45 am for an outstanding arrest warrant out of the Essex County Sheriff's Dept. Officers responded to a suspicious person call on Turrell Ave and located Williams at the address.  A record check revealed the active warrant and officers arrested Williams without further incident, then transported him to headquarters for processing.

Auto Theft - A Hillside Pl. resident reported that between 8:50 p.m.,Tuesday, June 27, and 6 a.m., Wednesday, June 28, actor(s) unknown stole his vehicle (2008 VW).

Theft of Bicycle - A Maplewood resident reported that between 7:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, actor(s) unknown stole his bicycle (black & orange, Trek), which was locked and secured to a tree on Valley Street.

Criminal Mischief - A Park Pl. resident reported that between 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 27, 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 28, actor(s) unknown damaged the driver's side door lock to her vehicle (1999 Jeep) while it was parked in the driveway.

Burglary to Auto - A Blanchard Rd resident reported that between 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 28, and 8:00 a.m., Thursday, June 29, actor(s) unknown entered his unlocked vehicle (2013 VW), which was parked in his driveway at the time and ransacked the interior, though nothing was taken.

Auto Theft - A Blanchard Rd. resident reported that between 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 28, and 8:00 a.m., Thursday, June 29, actor(s) unknown stole his vehicle (2010 Toyota), which was parked in his driveway at the time.
