SOUTH ORANGE, NJ -- On Tuesday, Oct. 25, the community is invited to join the South Orange Police Department for "Coffee with a Cop" at the Baird Community Center from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

According to the South Orange Police Department's posting on their Facebook page, the event is:

  • Agenda Free - No speeches or specific topics. Just informal conversations about what matters to community residents.
  • No Barriers - Eliminates obstacles–such as radios, patrol cars and cell phones–for a short period of time to be more approachable and have relaxed conversations with community members.
  • Problem Solving - Coffee with a Cop events are opportunities to build relationships in order to better problem solve with the people officers serve.

This is the South Orange Police Department's second Coffee with a Cop event. For more about last year's event, click here.

Maplewood police are also hosting Coffee with a Cop, on Thursday, Oct. 20. Read more about the Maplewood event here.
