SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - The South Orange holiday pop-up store, Pop 'n Shop, is back for holiday shoppers, with items from 40 local artists and craftspeople for sale. Sponsored by the South Orange Village Center Alliance (SOVCA), the Pop 'n Shop is now in its fourth holiday season, but is in a larger space this year at 55 South Orange Ave., the former Blockbuster store.
The official ribbon cutting was on Thursday, Dec. 8, with South Orange Village President Sheena Collum and South Orange Village Trustees Walter Clarke, Howard Levison and Jeff DuBowy all there for the occasion, as well as Bob Zuckerman and Melissa Hodges of the SOVCA, andmany of the Pop 'N Shop vendors and volunteers.
Collum welcomed all to the Pop 'n Shop, stating “Village residents, here’s your chance to shop local with a wide array of incredible merchandise and art, mostly from local people, so come on in and spend your money here."
Zuckerman added his welcome and congratulations, stating that this is the third time for the Pop 'N Shop Holiday store, and the fourth time for a local South Orange Pop 'n Shop, which also popped up last spring.
Zuckerman also noted that this is the largest Pop 'n Shop to date, and the first time the store has a Recharge and Relax Lounge with snacks and charging stations, sponsored by Kitchen a la Mode. The Pop 'n Shop space is courtesy of Hub Realty.
Pop 'n Shop is open Saturday, Dec. 10, and Sunday, Dec. 11, and then again Dec. 15 through Dec. 18, from Noon to 8 p.m. each day.
