Looking for a dance or fitness program for your child?
Registration is open for the Spring session of kids’ dance and fitness programs at Studio 509. The fitness studio offers quality after school programming for kids and teens in an environment that is supportive and non competitive. Classes are available for grades Pre-K through 12.
Guada Bas, one of the teachers, danced professionally for twelve years with the The Phillipine Ballet Theatre as their principal dancer. Says Bas, “Dance instills a sense of discipline and respect… for our students, their classmates and their teachers. Each child in the class will interpret the movement and music differently. We create structure in which our students can find that freedom. We believe dance is fun and we celebrate this at Studio 509!”
The studio offers dance classes in beginning ballet as well as dance fusion which fuses different dance styles such as ballet, modern and jazz movements and sets them to current pop hits.
While the majority of the schedule is for dance, the studio also offers a “Total Fitness” class for 6th to 8th graders. This class incorporates cardio, flexibility, TRX, pilates and more. It’s a great introduction to “working out,” as part of a healthy lifestyle.
Whether in dance or fitness, all classes emphasize muscular endurance, flexibility and coordination. The kids learn to connect their mind to their body.
The Spring session begins April 4. Classes meet once a week for 8 sessions. The cost is $145. Please visit studio509fitness.com for the current schedule and rates.
