SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - Teens in grades 6 to 12 who are interested in volunteering this summer can sign up to be VolunTeens at the South Orange Public Library.
According to program organizers, in order to participate teens should plan to "devote at least 12 hours to community service projects from Monday through Thursday in July and August." Participants will also attend six summer workshops, each with a speaker and a hands-on activity.
All volunteers must attend one of the orientation sessions which will be held on June 17 at 2 p.m., June 20 at 3 p.m., June 21 at 4 p.m., and June 22 at 5 p.m.
Applications can be picked up at the South Orange Public Library.

The program is open to area teens, even if they don't live in South Orange, stated Melissa Kopecky, Director of the South Orange Public Library.
