Looking for an opportunity to give back to your community? Willing to work with a diverse group of your neighbors? The Nominating Committee of the South Orange/Maplewood Community Coalition on Race is currently seeking potential new members to serve on our Board of Trustees. Qualifications include your enthusiasm for our mission of integration and a willingness to volunteer your time.
This is truly an exciting way to volunteer. The Coalition on Race's work touches so many areas of community life--from a variety of affirmative marketing projects, to building relationships through the arts, to developing and working on community events like the Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration, the Cultural Heritage Festival, Conversations on Race, Two Towns-One Book, the BOE Candidates' Forum, and a variety of workshops and forums related to our integration mission. Plus, you will be part of monthly 'issues discussions' at our board meetings.
If you are interested, please contact our office at 973-761-6116. We'll arrange for you to meet with a member of the Nominating Committee who can give you detailed information on serving as a trustee.
