MAPLEWOOD, NJ - The GYM Maplewood held its grand opening on Sunday, October 1. The GYM Maplewood is a sports training center with a focus on family fitness.

Friends and family as well as members of the gym gathered together with owner Tim Reynolds to celebrate the grand opening with an official ribbon cutting with Maplewood Mayor Vic DeLuca.

"This is an amazing addition to Springfield Avenue. Here we have a local resident who for quite a while has operated a small gym and is now expanding into a sports facility," said DeLuca, adding "Tim works with children from 3 years of age up. Once the location was identified, lots of things happened quickly for Tim to be here.”

Reynolds explained that the new location had been in the works for years, and that he is excited to finally have the space operational. “I only did personal training before, but now there are open hours for youth sports training with batting cages and a turf training area for teens," said Reynolds.

“Tim loves the community so much that the focus on the space is only how to help the youth sports community of SOMA and Millburn," shared Ana DeArchuleta.

The GYM Maplewood is located at 1933 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood.
