Trustees Cheryl Sydney, Nicholas Kiel, and Marcelle Jackson have established The Stephan Sydney Scholarship Fund in memory of the late Stephan Sydney, who passed away at the tender age of 15 last summer at his maternal grandmother Salome Stewart’s Newark, NJ home.

Stephan had just completed the ninth grade at Oglethorpe County High School in Athens, GA, where he was an honor roll student. His dream was to return to New Jersey to continue his education at Rutgers University. While Stephan was taken away from us far too soon, the memories of him will forever live on in the hearts and minds of those he left behind.
Stephan loved to dance and drew crowds whenever he did. Donations to the memorial scholarship will help deserving, qualified children such as Stephan pursue an education in the arts. In partnership with the community, civic leaders and businesses – locally and nationally – The Stephan Sydney Scholarship Fund hopes to award a scholarship to a resident of New Jersey and Georgia, respectively, beginning with the 2016 school year.
To celebrate the official launch of the Stephan Sydney Scholarship Fund, the trustees are pleased to announce a cocktail reception and fundraiser at Astah's Art Gallery this weekend.

Sunday, February 15, 2015 - 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Astah's Art Gallery
1897 Springfield Avenue
Maplewood, New Jersey 07040
*Complimentary cocktails and refreshments will be provided. Your gracious donations will be accepted at the event.
