SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - PlayDay South Orange was on Sunday, September 16, which promised for the fourth year "the most fun you've ever had between two curbs."
PlayDay, which took place in and around a stretch of South Orange Avenue that was closed to traffic, featured street games, fitness activities, inflatables, live music, art, dance, and food from local eateries.
Matt Glass, Chairman of the Board of the South Orange Village Alliance (SOVCA) which organizes PlayDay stated that there were "about 4,000 people playing in the street…everything from basketball to rock climbing, fencing to gymnastics and ziplining to ping pong."
The Town Hall Deli Sloppy Joe Eating Contest is an annual tradition at PlayDay, which was won this year by Ryan Pogany of South Orange.
"Thank you to the thousands who came to play in the street on our most successful PlayDay ever! We couldn't do it without our sponsors, volunteers, Village partners and all of you who joined us. Thank you!," stated an update on the SOVCA Facebook page.
