EWING, NJ — Several World War II aircraft will be flying into Trenton-Mercer Airport this week for tourists to view. The CAF AirPower History Tour featuring historic World War II aircraft will provide cockpit tours, flight demonstrations, and rides.  

The event features the B-29 Superfortress FIFI, the most advanced bomber of World War II; the T-6 Texan, legendary trainer of World War II; the PT-13 Boeing Stearman, an open cockpit biplane; the P-51 Mustang Gunfighter; and the Stinson L-9, the smallest American bomber of World War II.

The tour will visit the Trenton-Mercer Airport at Signature Flight Support located at 10 West Piper Ave in Ewing. The event will take place with highlights as below:

  • Friday, June 11 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., B-29 cockpit tours available all day; T-6, L-9 and PT-13 available for rides all day; P-51 arrives at noon, rides available after 1 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 12 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., B-29 flies at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.; B-29 cockpit tours available after noon; P-51, PT-13, L-9 and T-6 available for rides all day
  • Sunday, June 13 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., B-29 flies at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.; B-29 cockpit tours available after noon; P-51, PT-13, L-9 and T-6 available for rides all day

Ramp access fees are $20 for adults; $10 for children ages 11 through 17; and free for children under age 10. All tickets that are purchased on site on the day of the event includes free B-29 cockpit tour when the aircraft is available; rider’s admission is complimentary with proof of purchase; and attending aircraft subject to change due to weather or maintenance.
