On Saturday, January 27, 2018, two teams, 4102 and 5332, from the Columbia High School Robotics Club will compete in the seventh annual Robo-CATastrophe, the Central East NJ League Tournament for FTC robotics, at South Orange Middle School, 70 North Ridgewood Rd, South Orange, NJ.
The teams are members of the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), an international robotics program. In competitions, held around the state by New Jersey FTC, teams compete in pairs, known as alliances, using their robots to score points by completing a variety of tasks during each two-and-a-half minute match.
The Robo-CATastrophe is the last chance for teams in the Central East NJ League to qualify for the New Jersey State Championship.
The CHS Robotics Club’s other teams, 7959 and 9563, have already qualified for the New Jersey State Championship, which will be held on February 25 at West-Windsor-Plainsboro HS North, 90 Grovers Mill Road, Plainsboro Township, NJ.
