UNION, NJ – Union police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who choked and robbed a taxi driver at the Garden State Motel last week.

According to a Facebook post by Union Police, a taxi driver was choked after he drove a customer to the Garden State Motel on Jan. 23 at 12:45 a.m.  The customer got into the cab in Bloomfield and made a stop in Newark before ending up at the motel, according to police.  At the motel, the man robbed the taxi driver, ran into the motel and disappeared. 

According to the Union County Crime Stoppers, an unknown woman was with the man and got out of the taxi prior to the robbery. Union police are trying to determine her role in the robbery and is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying her.
