SOUTH ORANGE AND MAPLEWOOD, NJ - The latest forecast from the National Weather Service calls for heavy snow with total accumulations of 12 to 18 inches, with a Winter Storm Warning in effect through 4 a..m. on Thursday.

The following stores, restaurants, businesses, and community services have announced that they will be closed, or are closing early, on Wednesday, March 7.

In addition, the South Orange Village Center posted the following to their Facebook page at about 2 p.m.:

"As of 1:00 PM the snow is really coming down and starting to accumulate rapidly. While a good number of our merchants were open this morning, many of them will be closing early due to the storm. According to the National Weather Service, road conditions will rapidly deteriorate through mid afternoon, making travel very difficult to nearly impossible for the late afternoon and evening commute. Please use extreme caution if you must head out."
